MEET SCT'S SUMMER 2021 INTERN CLASS
Lauren Mandras (she/her) is a senior at the University of Central Florida – Rosen College of Hospitality Management studying Entertainment Management. She is currently a Communications Intern with the Broadway Green Alliance, combining her love of theatre with her passion for environmental activism. In this role, she has developed creative skills in digital marketing, event planning, and community outreach. Moreover, Lauren has also gained extensive experience working at live shows within theme parks, such as Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple and Blue Man Group Orlando. Lauren is thrilled to work as a Content Marketing Intern this summer at the Seattle Children’s Theatre and is very grateful for the opportunity! |
Morgan Gwilym Tso (He/They) is a junior at Stanford University studying Theater, Asian American Studies, and Computer Science. Growing up in Seattle, the first theatrical show he remembers seeing was actually at SCT itself, so you can imagine how excited he is to be back! He’s heavily involved with student theater at school and spent this past fall quarter virtually interning at the New Victory Theater in New York. While he’s unsure if he’ll pursue theater as a performer, educator, or administrator, he knows he wants to use it as a tool for storytelling and empowerment within communities of color. |
Khanthida Mounivong (She/her) is from Laos and currently a junior at St. Olaf College double majoring in Theatre and Education. Her passion for theatre started in high school in Armenia, United World College Dilijan (UWCD), where she discovered how theatre can help understand the body, who we are as people, and strengthen connections to the community. However, when she recieved a scholarship to continue her passion for theatre in the US, she faced the lack of diversity and inclusion in the theatre field, which led her to a new passion in education. Khanthida would like to become a theatre educator working to create positive changes so that theatre students of color would feel safe, include, and believe that they will become successful both in life and on the stage. She is interested in the work of inclusivity in the field of theatre and how we can make theatre a safe-belonging space, and a second home. |
Kandace (she/her) is a rising senior at Northwestern University. She got involved with theatre when she was a child by participating in summer camps at the children’s theatre in her hometown, Omaha, Nebraska, and has loved it ever since. She loves acting, writing, directing, and theatre education and she hopes to pursue careers in acting and theatre education after she graduates. Kandace is slowly but surely learning how to play the ukulele |
Kaley Hinrichs (She/Her) is thrilled to be a new teaching artist intern for Seattle Children’s Theater! Kaley is a rising junior studying theatre education and entrepreneurial management at Ball State University. Her passion for diverse, accessible theatre education and seeing students grow through art drives every teaching endeavor she has. In the past, she has worked at Theatre Arts for Kids (Lincoln, NE), Muncie Civic Theatre, and Northside Middle School’s drama program (Muncie, IN). In her free time, she is involved in performing and film arts. She is so grateful and ecstatic for this opportunity with SCT. |

Hailey graduated with her BFA in Acting from Webster Conservatory in St. Louis, Missouri in 2018. In 2019, she moved to New York City and has worked in theatre education, TYA, zoom plays, and devised theatre there for the past 2 years. After growing up in summer programs for young people in theatre and performing arts, Hailey can’t wait to experience summer in Seattle for the first time and with a company as incredible as SCT. Speaking of summer camp, when Hailey was 8, she had to be picked up from sleep-away camp because she was tired of playing sports outside and missed her mom. Luckily, she tried theatre camp the next year. |
