Seattle, Wash. – Seattle Children’s Theatre is thrilled to welcome the Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus! The Musical! touring group from John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Written by Emmy winning and New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Mo Williems, this musical features a combination of puppets, songs, and surprises that will get your toes tapping and wings flapping! It’s an interactive romp with one of youth literature’s most hilarious characters.
Pigeon really wants to drive the bus, but as some fans know, it’s not easy being a Pigeon because you never have the opportunity to do what you want, say eat a hot dog or drive a bus! The only thing that comes Pigeon’s way is bird seeds from an old lady! But on this day, while the bus driver handles a public transit emergency, it looks as though our feathered friend’s dreams may finally come true!
Musical numbers and catchy quips delight the audience through Pigeon’s very own adventure of finding his ‘thing’ and coming to know what he was meant to do in this world. Through an illustrated journey, Pigeon demonstrates it’s never too late to learn to fly and follow your dreams!
Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus! The Musical! is SCT’s third production in the 21-22 season and the third Mo Willems musical adaptation on SCT’s stage.
“One of SCT’s values is Clap Hard, Cry Hard; we can laugh big, cry big, ask big questions, and feel big feelings together,” said Kevin Malgesini SCT’s Managing Director. “This production in particular is an invitation for big joy. As the lights go down and an imaginary world comes into focus, we invite you to bring your whole self as we take this journey together.”
Tickets for Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus! The Musical! are on sale now and can be purchased at sct.org.
